Well, new to me. And I crowed to myself, GENIUS! What do you think about this idea?
In case you can't guess, I took a blank 8.5x11 scrapbook template and filled it up with greetings and words from stamp sets I don't have. Now it's just a simple matter of cutting or punching out to get my greeting. Another word for this type of use in card making or even scrapbooking is "Hybrid". The Easter card I made for my mom used the word Celebrate along with my new stamp set, Awash With Flowers. I plan on uploading a picture of the card once I find my camera. Honestly, my house is so disorganized and cluttered, it makes me crazy.
Happy Easter everyone!
Red and gold really do look like Christmas!
Here I've taken real red and embossed it with the Petals -a- Plenty embossing folder (from the Holiday Mini) using my Big Shot, and embossed gold ornaments from the Delightful Decorations stamp set, also from the Holiday Mini. This punch from the mini is the greatest thing, it made cutting these out a breeze, and I love that you can use the punch to make ornaments out of anything, from Designer Series Paper to hand-stamped cardstock- it's a most versatile punch.
Some of the other accessories include the old Zig Painty, Stampin' Dimensionals, and Gold Cardstock.
The greeting is from a level 1 hostess set called " Holiday Best"
Enjoy!
The last club meeting for one of my clubs was last night. Here's one of the cards we made- a Christmas card using the 5-petal punch to make poinsettias, and the highlight of this project was using the buttons. We stamped them with white stazon, and covered them over completely with Crystal Effects- in real life, the look is stunning, very "touchable". Cardstock colours used are Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, and So Saffron. We used White Stazon for the buttons, black classic for the greeting, and silver cord. I also used white frames cut using the top-note die on the Big-Shot. I sponged the edges with Riding Hood Red.
Enjoy!
A quick post to show you a birthday card I'm especially proud of. My brother in law celebrates his bday this week. This is a retired set way back from when I first became a demonstrator...,maybe called polar bear pals? I can't remember. I also used my sizzlets snowflake die with the big shot providing the top-note frame along the outside. Cardstock colours used: brilliant blue, bashful blue, whisper white, basic black. I used a blender pen to colour with real red and brilliant blue classic pads, and the retired Zig painty to add silver detailing.
Enjoy!
I CASE'd this card from Sherry Roth, a fellow demo from Sherwood Park. I don't remember exactly how hers looked, but mine is similar.
I used the brand new stamp set Season of Thanks, from the Holiday Mini Collection. I love this set- it's so versatile- and this month in my clubs I'm showcasing Brayer techniques, and this set is perfect for Split Brayer.
The colours used are Pacific Point, Basic Black, and Bashful Blue.
Enjoy!
My stamp club this week focused on projects using Chipboard. Ever since my friend Chantel showed me there's nothing to be afraid of, I've been loving chipboard.
The first is a card with a simple Chipboard scalloped frame highlighting one flower. This frame was covered in Craft Ink first, heat dried, and glued down. We used the stamp set Inspired by Nasture. Easy peasy.
The next 2 examples are the second project we worked on, a magnet. We used the stamp set Dreams du Jour. This chipboard frame is covered with Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, and sanded down. Hint...use an emery board for sanding in between scallops :)
I hope this has helped jump start you into stamping alternatives to cards! Have a great weekend,
Stacy
This stamp set isn't exactly my usual style, but it's pretty cute. What do you think of it?
It will be available in the upcoming Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalogue, debuting August 11.
Here's a sample I created with it last night. I used all our new colours for the stamped side piece, Old Olive ribbon, the scallop circle punch, a NEW Baja Breeze button, and a piece of old olive wide ribbon. Enjoy!
Of course, getting ready for a birthday party involves making a birthday card, right? I used It's Your Birthday (retiring set) and Sock Monkey...sahara sand, basic grey, and real red cardstock...brilliant blue, real red, basic grey, and sahara sand markers. I think the monkey is growing on me.
Have a good day!
