I'm a bit guilty of not blogging in a few months...ok, more than a bit guilty. My husband and I welcomed a little baby boy into our family in early April. He's perfect, and everything is ok, I'm just tired and adjusting to a newborn baby's schedule. And let's be honest, the heat we get in summer isn't really my cup of tea. It's hard to do much when it's too hot to move.
It's been a long, hot summer, but fall is here and with the return to school we have the advent of Online Ordering! This is a very exciting change for Stampin' Up! customers and demonstrators alike. You no longer have to wait until the next party, or remember to email me or call me, if you want something you can just order it as quickly as a snap of your fingers.
Simply go online to www.stacywestman.stampinup.net and click the "Shop Now" button in the upper right hand corner, and it takes you to all our products, easily separated into categories, so you can find what you're looking for while you're looking for it. I went in this morning to try it out. You can search by keyword as well, which is very handy. I searched for the keyword Pocket and it brought out products I wouldn't have thought of as well as the stamp set I was thinking of. This is very handy- even if you don't know the whole name of a stamp set, you will most likely be able to find it.
I think online ordering will be very beneficial for you, as customers, especially those of you who don't live in town or nearby me. We don't have to connect via phone calls and emails to make your order happen, it just happens. I believe I will be notified of your order so I can follow up with a call to make sure everything in your order is received, just as I try to do now. You still have access to me, your demonstrator, anytime you have questions or need help with your product. If you need to exchange or return your item I'll be there to help with that too.
I'm so excited by this change. It's going to be a fun fall!

First off, let me apologize for the length of time it's been since I've blogged about everything. I'm horrified when I check out the calendar and see the date. It's been hectic lately, with many things happening.
On to more stamping related notes. I've been creating lately for myself, which just makes me happy. I enjoy stamping but often don't get much of a chance to stamp more than class samples. Over the next few days I'll upload some more pictures, but for now here's a card I made for submission to an art contest:
I love how it turned out! I used Linen Prints Designer Series Paper, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black cardstock, a chipboard element from Blossoms and Basics, White Stazon, Black Embossing Powder. I also used a greeting from Its Your Birthday as well as a design from A Beautiful Thing.
This card looks so amazing in real life :) To make the chipboard element, cover it with Versamark. Dump black embossing powder onto it, and melt it. Repeat until you have even coverage. You can choose to use a marker to edge the chipboard black if you choose to do so.
(One more thing about this process- it's hot. Find something to lay the chipboard down in and melt without actually holding onto it!)
Stamp the design in white stazon. I recommend cleaning your stamp right away with Stazon Remover- that white really sticks to the rubber :)
Enjoy your card! I feel this is a really nice masculine card that stands out from all my usual artwork consisting of flowers and butterflies :)

Here's my delivery of goodies (AKA SAB pre-order) that arrived today:
And the first thing I did was rip open my new package of Rub Ons (!!!) and try them out on a pillar candle.
It worked! It was so easy! I'll put up a tutorial on them this week when I get some photos taken as it's done.
What do you think of it? So pretty right? And in Canada the minimum to spend is now $70 for a free set or package of rub ons. How cool is that?
I think a stamp camp with some pretty candles and other uses for rub ons during SAB would be a good thing. I'll see what I can do.

It's been a wonderful Christmas season for me, and I hope you've had a chance to kick back and relax during your holiday too! We were blessed to have family here from out of town, and my husband got to take some time off work.
Here's the "big" home-made gift I gave to my mom and my mom-in-law. I used some chipboard I found in my stamping cupboard that came in a package for something I bought sometime, but forgot about. I cut each sheet in half to make both covers on both books.
I used the retiring Simply Scrappin' Kit Primary Colours to complete the pages, and printed all the pictures I used on my printer using the program Paint Shop Pro 9 to fiddle with the photos.
Because I used the binder rings to bind the pages together, there is a lot of space leftover to add pages & pictures from 2008 to the albums for next Christmas. I already made a note of the colours and dimensions on my Dec 2008 calendar page. Now isn't that organized:) If only I could stay that way for the whole year!
All in all I am completely THRILLED with the results. Now if only I'd take the time to make my own albums for myself!
There are so many exciting changes coming in 2008. I can't wait to celebrate them with you!
